Behind 'Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo!!' Song

23rd January 1963,It was a street located in Mahim,Mumbai.A hindi poet & lyricist Kavi Pradeep (Ramchandra Divedi) was standing at a Pan (Tobacco) Stall. There was a radio tunning up in the stall.Radio was reporting about India-China War.

As Kavi Pradeep heard about the Soliders killed at border during war.One line came out from his heart. It was ‘Jo Shahid Hue Hai Unki Jaraa Yaad Karo Qurbani’.He want to take down this line before he forget.Pradeep asked for a piece of paper to the Panwala. But Panwala refused to give paper.Pradeep purchased a packet of Cigarette,He thrown all cigrates & made packet empty. He torn the paper in such a manner that he could write on it.

Kavi Pradeep penned the lines of India's most popular Patriotic song on a packet of Cigarette. After writing the lines  ‘Jo Shahid Hue Hai Unki Jaraa Yaad Karo Qurbani’.He took a taxi to his home & composed his Master art.It was sung by Lata Mangeshkar on 26th January 1963 in New Delhi in front of the Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
