I Couldn’t Lie…!!

My name is Aakriti Sinha.I am a 20 yrs old teenager.In this article,I am sharing one of my real life incidents took place in December 2014.


14th December was a really great day for me.My Dad had ordered a new Smartphone for me which was expected to be delivered on this day.I was very much excited for my new Smartphone.I wanted to show my new Smartphone to my friends.Finally, one Courier delivery boy rung the door bell & handed over the smartphone to my dad.Since I was getting ready to go to the college,My dad inserted my SIM card in the new smartphone.Message alert bell rang immediately after inserting the SIM card.My dad read the message & asked me,Who is this? I thought for a second & replied with a fear,”It’s Suren!!”.Dad’s eyes turned into red because of anger. Suren Sharma wasn’t an unknown person for my Dad

In the year 2009,My family was shifted to a city which is located at a border of Mumbai.I was in 9th std at that time then I met Suren,He was my brother’s friend & he was familiar with my family.Suren used to come to my home.My parents & my siblings used to like his behavior.I was also liking him but I couldn’t understand when I fall in love with him.He also loving me & we decided to live with each other till the life ends.But I was hesitating to say this to my parents.We used to meet without informing our parents.But truth & love can not be hidden for a long time.My Dad read that message & he understood that after the migration of our family,I’m still in touch with him.

Suren is a good & intelligent guy.He was studying hard for being a Computer Engineer.He had craze of his career.He had the good family background in terms of social & financial nature.But still, my parents was not liking to have relation with him.There was only one reason that our Surname was not same,He is Sharma & I am Sinha.My dad stopped talking to me after the 14th of December till the next one month.I flew ocean of tears for more than a week.I was caught talking & messaging to him for the third time.That is why my new smartphone was taken away from me.I would have been avoided this situation by lying to my dad that I don’t know who is this guy who is sending messages.But the thing was I couldn’t lie.
There are many Aakriti Sinha in our nation.Daily number of such story starts & ends.Many time ends are unwillingly & unhappy.

Now as an Author,I want to tell something about this story.The dad of the leading character of this story is Educated & he belongs to the proper Mumbai.My simple question is to you that matching of Surname is important for a successful married life?Do you support this type of customs of the society?

    Inter-caste marrige is one of the major issue till today.
    I think people should become open minded.
    I Hope this story may help to think on such issues.

This is inspired from a real incident,the story is based on the description given by witness of this incident took place in Khandala in 1970s. I am an stage artist and performer,I did many stage shows at various cities and places.In the year 1972,I had an stage show arranged in Khandala.It was two day’s event.I reached there one day before for rehearsal and preparations.I didn’t want to spend more money.I was looking for 3 star hotel or guesthouse.Luckly I got one good guesthouse at cheaper rent to live.
